An era of Personal Responsibility would be super.
I am more concerned about institutional responsibility compared to personal. It is kinda low hanging fruit to say to some drug addict "well you shouldnt have used drugs" compared to the important changes like arresting all those cheats on wall street.
@BearMcClure only until it runs up against other people's decisions. Or have you discovered the secret of mind control?
Responsibility for what, exactly?
@BearMcClure fair enough so far.
In what context? For actions a person takes that affects others? Or do you mean in relation to ones "Lot in life"?
Definitely ones lot in life
@Kojaksmom I don't believe you can hold one accountable for "lot in life" I see too many folks busting their tails, doing the right thing, and playing by the rules who never get ahead. In those cases I believe it is a societal abdication of responsibility. Why are these individuals falling through the crack's ? Why is society failing them? What roadblocks are in the way? We have lost way too much I. Pluribus Unum in this country under the false pretense of individual success being possible for each one of us regardless of where or what we start with or from.
@BearMcClure I have to disagree here. If one is disabled and cannot work, it's foolish to not accept assistance. By trying to cram oneself into a machine designed for healthy people, all the disabled person ends up doing is making their precarious health even worse, saddling themselves with a spotty work history, and ensuring that each time they try it becomes more and more difficult to get back into the machine until it becomes impossible.
