Flat Earthers are real. Ran into one last year. He was a big time Theist, Trump Supporter, and surprise surprise (not really flat earthers tend to be in this crowd) flat earther. I debated with him for many days in the cafeteria. One day paid him much praise and told him how I admired his following the truth. I gave him a list of (MUST WATCH) videos that debunked is creationalist and flat earth claims. This link and those that follow are worth watching.

That was the last time he ever ate in the cafeteria. (wonder why?)

I think social media gives these lunatics a platform and a profile totally disproportionate with there credibility. What doesn't help is political correctness coupled with 'you never know' gives them more coverage.

There are two things that lay this to rest:

1. Watch a sun set, it's a sun 'set' not a 'sun gets further away'
2. The time zones. There is no flat earth model for time zones that puts NewYork at UTC -5 and Perth at UTC +7 or any other for that matter.

Treat it with the contempt it deserves

I don’t pay’em any mind. I suspect they’re just trying to get attention.

As I said in an earlier post, the planetary model with a spheroidal earth orbiting the sun is nothing but a mathematical model. Reality is much different. Models are useful for different purposes. The flat earth model is useful by land surveyors for small surveys.

I always wonder to myself which koolaid you and others are referring to? Jim Jones or The Dead?
