Browsing around and seeing an awful lot of people who believe in a god with great certainty. Does anyone find that odd on a system built by and for nonbelievers?
I think it was Ignatius of Loyola who said "give me the boy up until the age of seven, and I will give you the man." It's all indoctrination, mostly by parents and families from very young ages. What is scary is how few people manage to free themselves from this in later life.
Not a big deal...the more the merrier. Christopher Hitchens was really good because he had an almost infinity supply of non sense to argue against. So, as bad or weird as it may seem, we can actually take advantage of it and keep our mind sharp !!! Practice makes perfect
Trolls looking for chinks....post a query that requires you to posit a Gawd in order to answer it. Or, turn all snarky on them like I do.......!
I don’t know about the “great certainty” part, but I lean toward the idea of universal consciousness, which could be given the God label if one was amind. I greatly enjoy this forum because it is full of caring, intelligent, independent-minded people. Having diversity of opinion adds legitimacy to the word “forum”.
