In the less enlightened and earlier times here in Australia there were sayings such as, 'Pillow-biting/Pillow-biters,' 'Back door Burglars,' Doughnut punchers,' etc, used to both describe Gays and covertly advertise being Gay.

patwa...you can hear it every day on BBC radio 4 extra

Is Virgin radio still around. I used to listen to them on line in my classroom a multitude of years ago. Even won paint ball tickets. I didn't know anybody then to have someone collect.

@Beowulfsfriend yes I think so. I am odd...I never watch or listen to commercial media.
