"50 Shades of Grey" review, has anyone else read this series?

SPOILER ALERT I have read all 3 books in the series "50 Shades of Grey." I wanted to see what all the hype was about. After reading the 1st one, I wanted to finish the other 2 so I could analyze the series and have the knowledge to spread awareness how awful and harmful the series is.

Christian Grey is emotionally abuse to Anastasia. He was controlling, jealous, and a stalker. His mother was addicted to drugs and he had resentment towards her. That is why he was into BDSM. He said Ana looked like his mom and that's why he liked physically hurting women in bed. Yes it was consentual but that is so creepy.

Ana openly told him that she didn't want him to buy her all these expensive things. He still did and went against her wishes.

He didn't like her having male friends and pretty much isolated her. In the third book, towards the end, he actually got mad at her when she became pregnant and was emotionally abusive.

He confused Ana often because he didn't know what he wanted. Ana was also a bad character cause she also confused him because SHE didn't know what SHE wanted either. The whole series is a trainwreck, copied off of "Twilight," and is all about a rich abuser who tries to use money to by Ana's love. It is not a good and realistic protrayl of a healthy BDSM relationship. Awful series and people have even tried to get the books banned. The movies are even more atrocious.

I worked at a Domestic Violence Shelter. He exhibits every sign of an abuser.

One of the major themes of Femporn is that the pure female can “tame” the abusive male with her feminine wiles. Frankly, if a woman wants to fantasize about being abused, so what? If a man reads/watches abuse of females, again, so what? If a man wants to bring abuse in real life, I might object. Thinking is not a crime or even a problem. DOING, on the other hand, is. Banning books/movies/plays/etc won’t solve anything.

I read the first book. It was very disappointing. Before I read the book I thought it was going to be about sex....but it was about violence.

I'm happy to have you agree with me considering that so many people say they loved the book. @VeronikaAnnJ

In thumd throught the first one but decided it wasnt worth reading. Every one i knew who read it and was a regular reader of books said it was terrible. It was a very poorly written book.
I work in a supermarket and when these books where forst out and selling like hot cakes i was stocking the shelf and could not get them out fast enough. One elderly lady approached me and asked for a copy of the second one. I appologised ans said i hadnt got one but there was more due in in a few days. She turned to me and said "its filth absolue filth there are things in it i never ever imagined" so i asked her why she wanted to buy volume two. "Well i have to find out what happens in the end don't i Its my daughters fault she bought me the first one as she thought it eas a really good book but its filth absolute fith"

Picked one up in a charity shop and leafed through it to see what all the hype was about.
In my opinion trashy chick lit/soft porn

@VeronikaAnnJ I don't think they are too fussy. I bought a dictionary in another one and the receipt said "Adult books" No wonder youngsters are semi literate theses days 🙂
