I think it shodl be legal, licensed, taxed and regulated. If that is done, there is realy no justification for keepign it illegal.

The state seems to set morality laws and ignores what a women wishes to use her body for. Personally i never indulged nor would wish to . If allowed should be controlled for medical reasons and clients list kept so they could be warned if a problem occured.

Prostitution should be legalized and regulated everywhere. Since Australia did that, the seedy parts of town were cleaned up, prostitututes moved into brothels and began getting medical exams, had guards to protect them them from violent clients, so both the women and their johns were safer, and divorces went down by 8%!

No, legal pot is enough here in Colorado. To many people have moved here just smoke pot legally. We don’t need anymore.

Prostitution ? Perfectly acceptable. These ladies are due more respect. Providing they entertain from a single institution, [ to protect them from possible adverse attention from the client ] and adhere to all questions of health for them both, they are providing an important service.
Apart from that, it is none of our business what folk choose to become employed.

I have always advocated that prostitution be legalized and regulated just like any other industry. It is providing a needed service, and the only reason it is stigmatized is because of "morals"; in other words, religion.

But it's not just men who could use them. They could provide a much needed service for women, too.

Its a Political Football which like legalizing marijuana which over 75% of Americans have experienced for more than one reason or another. Both have health benefits and cut down on STD's and yes it will reduce the crime rate. It's one of 45's best campaign promises and most of his Congressional Associates have been known to indulge in for needed services.

I'm not a fan of how prostitution has been demonized. I think it should be legal, everywhere.
No one should be forced into it, ever. However, those who freely choose to engage in prostitution
should not be penalized, nor should they be looked down upon. They should be legally protected and be subject to monthly medical assessments, for their own protection and for public health safety.
Legalization would also go a very long way to eliminate the need for abusive pimps.
There's a reason why it's called the "world's oldest profession". It serves a purpose.

Sex for me has always been personal. I'm not made to screw around...scratch the itch. I'm just not built that way.
But I'm aware of those who don't put too fine a point on it. And I think, in a perfect world, prostitution would be a perfectly legitimate endeavor.
But we don't live in a perfect world. Many of us are completely screwed up in the head over sex, whether it from parents or religion or previous experience/ignorance. The world of prostitution is ugly. There's no empathy, no respect and and a whole lot of objectification.
So there's my messed up answer on all fronts.....

Sexuality is part of being human. I should be available to all. If it were legal (as it is in Navada), it could be controled and the women could be protected against exploitatiion. Then, there are those of us like me who want nothing to do with marriage...just want sex upon occasion. We then would never get married, but still have the human experiance of sex.

I believe in free enterprise. Prostitutes are just selling a service.

No body is perfect. that is number one. if women want to sell their bodies, that is their business. but women will be abused in any situation. men must learn to respect womens bodies.

Nothing wrong with it in the least, and what other people choose to do is strictly their business. If that is how someone wants to make their living, they should be able to without worry of getting tossed in jail. I personally would have no interest in patronizing prostitutes, especially knowing how easy it is these days to hookup via social media and the web, it's easy to find local women for even a one night stand. On the flip side of that, and not to divulge any dark secrets here, but I feel the way I do on prostitution and strippers because I one time was involved in a related situation, except I wasn't the patron...

I question how many women want to be prostitutes vs being forced to be a prostitute. I wouldn't want it to be legal if force is the primary reason for prostitution.

It's legal in the Netherlands. It's very highly regulated. As it is in Nevada.

I think it is a very personal choice to be in that profession, no different than being a sex performer in pornography. But people have to do it of their own free will.

I've been in relationships with a prostitute/ex prostitute/prostitute to be. My Ex used to be in a long term relationship with a transexual prostitute and some of my male friends have/are prostitutes. Thor! That sounds like I know a lot of prostitutes.

People will always find ways to get what they want, even if it goes around the law. Drugs, sex, gambling, and more things alike are illegal (for the most part) yet people still find ways to access them. Legalizing and regualting these things could reduce the size and expense of prisons as well as enhance the quality of the systems and increase safety.
