I am sure catholic priests had received more Info about sexual pleasures than a sex therapist. Heck... I was raised a catholic until age 12 when I bailed out... never to comeback. As I grow older and wiser, there is no doubt that humans need physical intimacy. Maslow's hierarchy of needs spells it out. But the RCC says that even thinking about intimacy, outside of marriage anyway, is "unpure".

This is where the teachings of Jesus are stricter than the established Jewish laws. Under Jewish law it was only a sin to commit adultery; Jesus changed this to it being a sin to even think about it--ie thought crimes/sins. When a god sees your every move and knows your every thought, it has a lot more control over you.
