There never was any "good side" to slavery.
Someass in the article said there was good because the bibly said so. He should read the fucking thing.
The only "good" rules were for Hebrew slaves and essentially they were only indentured servants as after 6 years they needed to be set free.
Maybe he meant the Qaran which lays out specific treatment for slaves, including - if there isnt enough food, the slave eats first. Now, we all know religious folk of all ilk are hypocrites so that didn't really happen.
Anything that starts with "Louisiana Reprublican" is going to end badly.
He needs to read Fredrick Douglass - Douglass escaped slavery, even though his life at the time of his escape was a prime example of "the good side of slavery." Douglass had a trade; only worked 5 and a half days a week; he got a small pay and was well fed and clothed; he got to visit with relatives and had holidays off. Yet, as Douglass knew, he was a slave, a fucking held in legal captivity slave, and everything he had could be gone at the whimsy of one person. There is nothing good about slavery.
