I find it easier to stick to my lane and not say Happy Easter. I might reply "Enjoy your holiday!" or something like that.
Spoken like a true diplomat
I work in customer service for a credit union. On Friday I think I was told Happy Easter at the end of about 20% of my calls. To which I responded something about having a great weekend. The first time I heard Happy Easter I responded with "oh yeah, that is coming up." There are some that really make a point of pushing their own agenda, and I just say "bye" and hang up. I don't have time for it, and I'm not going to make an issue of it. I just want to make the calls as short as possible.
More power yo you sister!
