I see this magazine is still around. Hopefully it hasn't changed. I used to subscribe for two reasons. One, it had good articles about various digs in the Middle East. Second, and far more fun, were the letters to the editor. Half or more of the letters were from outraged evangelicals who had picked up a copy thinking it was some sort of Christian magazine, and found stuff inside that offended their sensibilities. One guy was outraged a student at a dig was wearing a halter top and shorts for example. It was 110 in the shade, perfectly normal wear in that weather. Or people outraged because the author of an artcle used BCE/CE instead of BC/AD. Fun times. [amazon.com]
Biblical Archeology? Never read it. Sounds like it might be similar to Biblical History or Biblical Astronomy. In other words, oxymoronic.
Ooooh, I used to find the occasional copy of that around the Classical archaeology students' end of the refectory when I was at university (being one of the very small number of students specialisng in other periods who was permitted to enter their domain due to the fact that I had previously studied Classical Greek Literature. It was fantastic fun, and the editor had a superb sense of humour.
