When we were living in Mexico we took a trip to Acapulco to see a fellow Canadian called Juan Grande or Big John who had retired to that city. John took us on a tour of his adopted city and one of the highlights was this beautiful Diego Rivera mural not far from the Hotel Los Flamingos that John Wayne used to own with Tarzan and a few other Hollywood Stars as their own private get away.
Created in 1956 and located on the side of a house, this mural is located in Acapulco at the home of the late Dolores Olmedo who possessed the largest collection of Diego Rivera paintings in the world and a long-time friend of Rivera, and the woman that Diego Rivera asked to marry him after the death of his wife, the controversial painter, Frida Kahlo.
