Feel free to reply to any comment by clicking the "Reply" button.We already view the buddha as the ninth avatar of vishnu so the tie between buddhism and sanatan dharma old hat. In many academic circles Buddhism, Jainism and a couple of others are said to comprise the "nastika" theology of Hinduism (opposed to parts of the vedas) while others form the "astika" (in accord with the vedas). Buddha was also knowledgeable of the vedas, he just didn't reach the same views on the mandukya upanishad in his universal narrative. It's a beautiful piece for sure - but not because of any Hindustan insight. Followers of vedantic beliefs knew this already.
