Does anyone here have expertise or interest in the archaeology of the Out of Africa period, circa 70 KYA? I have a hypothesis that animal hide clothing was first developed for Homo sapiens during this period but I can only make a circumstantial case. Neanderthal animal hide clothing at least has a bit of evidence just after the Eemian.

Wasn't the Out of Africa period nearer 700 KYA and undertaken by homo erectus? Homo sapiens didn't appear until tens of thousands of years after early humans had begun to migrate beyond Africa.
