So glad to find this group. My undergrad degree is in Archaeology and I was a graduate student in Anthropology specializing in Historical Archaeology. I had to leave academia for personal reasons but I do have fond memories and did have exciting adventures. My areas of interest are mainly the Americas, especially the Southwest, Mesoamerica, and historical fur trade. Do you all have any particular areas of interest in regards to Archaeology and Anthropology?
I volunteered for a while at an archaeology unit, worked doing graphics in the heritage sector, then trained in the field to be a field archaeologist, so I took a rather circuitous route! My particular interests include "pre-Roman" Britain, Ancient Mesopotamia, and the Maya civilisation.
My undergrad degree is in Anthropology (with an emphasis on Archaeology, specifically). I went on to study Nautical Archaeology at Texas A&M. I completed all my course work, but was burned out and couldn't settle on a thesis topic so I never got my masters degree.
I was pretty much the same so I totally get that.
Hominids' switch from hunter-gatherers to farmers in the fertile crescent following the last mini ice age. this seems to be the period where we developed social rules to allow us to co-exist within communities.

Posted by qpr81Trajan's column in Rome. Shame they put a pope on top of it. Even though this is a monument raised over a genocide it's still something worth seeing.
