I'm in Florida - we have some nice looking scorpions here too - though they're very secretive. I have seen a few over the years ...
I enjoy all the crawly things around here !
Thanks for the photo !

I was wondering where you are, so I looked at your main page and found that you live in Texas. Watch out for snakes! Are there large spiders there?

@LifelongLearner My first brother in law was checking all the telephone poles across Texas and was bit by a rattlesnake. He got to a hospital and was there for several days. Be careful, I do not want to hear that you are sick or got harmed.

I don't mind spiders and snakes but scorpions freak me out .

Arizona bark scorpion?

@LifelongLearner Scorpions are way out of my area, both figuratively and geographically. I've only encountered a handful, and all I knew about scorpions at the time was that I should carefully check for them before I put a body part into any item of clothing or into shadowy spots.

@LifelongLearner I know. I have no intention of finding out whether or not I'll have a reaction. Even with bees, hornets, wasps, and their ilk, my reaction to stings is really mild, but I still avoid being stung 😉

Posted by InsectraA cute grey treefrog (Hyla versicolor) that I found in my birch tree, this afternoon. His camouflage was great and I only discovered him when I heard him calling.
