I have a gal just like this one at my front door - she "catches " me almost every morning !
I believe I would have to relocate that one.
@AstralSmoke She has to rebuild her web daily anyway - and I don't mind seeing her up close !
@evergreen I guess she does if you keep tearing it down.
@AstralSmoke uh ...no - it's already damaged when I come out - please don't assume.
@evergreen I hate when that happens!
Not a common barn spider, but looks related.
Time for Insectra!!
She sure is cool though!
She's cool and tolerates me. It's a bit unpleasant getting spider webs in the face though.
@AstralSmoke
Nothing worse! I am borderline arachnophobic and would surely not want her crawling on me!
I used to live in Fla. Down there they have these HUGE orb weavers called Nephila. The webs are
almost big enough to fill a door way, and will even catch lizards and hummingbirds! Run into one of those and you'll know it!!
@Leafhead Yikes!
@AstralSmoke
Then there are the Huntsman spiders, who are hand sized, all legs and flat to hide behind pictures, mirrors, etc. They run around at night but hide in the day. So when you go to rearrange your pix...
Fortunately, they are harmless, eat bugs, and as a bonus, are more scared of us than we are of them.
But not by much.
Nice puppy
Oh wow, and I thought it was a spider. Guess I should be a bit more observant.
A side note; I've heard that they are breeding miniature dogs now. Something else to trip over!
