Interesting site for ID next to [bugguide.net]. This site got me over my absolute insane freak out fear of house centipedes (I didn't know what they were) [whatsthatbug.com]

Oh gawd I can't watch that!
Thanks for the link, I have hundreds of photos to ID.
And about house centipedes (do you mean Scutigera coleoptrata?) it was the only thing in the world that could disgust me when I was a child.
Now I love and admire them!
I'm a southern state expat, so being in the midwest had never encountered them before.
For years they brought the princess out in me screaming my head off. (I thought they were silverfish and going to eat my clothes)
I no longer smash them after knowing what they are, but I do keep our dogs away from them as read they're said to have a nasty bite if trapped.
Speaking of which, have long wondered what would happen if I put one in a jar with my mortal enemy, the yellow sac spider. I'm not anti spider per se, just some... yellow sacs, micro spiders on milkweed for monarchs ...

Posted by BudgieSo one night my brother finds a carpet python inside, the other night I nearly trod on one coming in the door, tonight there was one in the chicken coop.

Posted by ZsterMy first Monarch since moving here! I started a butterfly garden two years ago, specifically targeting monarchs and swallowtails.

Posted by InsectraA cute grey treefrog (Hyla versicolor) that I found in my birch tree, this afternoon. His camouflage was great and I only discovered him when I heard him calling.
