Spring is coming! The Zster snakes are back to eating weekly... The king snakes are waking up after a winter nap. I am always amazed by how much bigger they are for having been sleeping and not eating.
Here's Siri ("Sirius Black" ), my youngest addition (a MexBlack), getting out for the first time in awhile.
i am amazed at how you can handle snakes in a relaxed way - there aren't many non-venomous in australia.
THAT would change things for me. Parts of the US have zero or very few venemous kinds. My house snakes are harmless 100%.
I cannot imagine living where so many things can kill you, beautiful or not.
oh, i don't mind sharing this vast land with any creature, @Zster. apart from one or two species even the venomous snakes aren't likely to attack, so i just do my awareness practice when going out.
the annual fatality rate by snake venom is between 2 & 4 countrywide, with 100 out of 170 species being venomous. so that's almost dismissable.
