I examine the claws fairly often, and clip at least once a month. My kitty girls can do some damage with the weapons they carry.

Why I like to clip mine, but it's a two person job and there's just me.

I trim the claws when the kitties are in bed with me. I sit cross legged and have them in my lap and partly under the covers for the front claws. I keep talking to them soothingly, and hold them firmly. They don't like it, but they've become resigned to it.
@HippieChick58 I try, can't be done in my case.
@Booklover I'm sorry. I got my girls as fairly young cats and invested in a nice trimmer. I've gotten some scratches, but the last time I trimmed it went really well and fairly quick. But some cats are just stubborn.
@HippieChick58 we started as babies but always two of us. I would hold them on my lap sitting up on their back legs. I would extend a leg one at a time. He would clip. Very slick. Now I might be able to get one claw if Spike is relaxed enough. Fiona is never that relaxed. Lol.
