[wolf-pac.com] has the following goal: "To save democracy in the United States by getting a much needed amendment to the U.S. Constitution that will establish elections which are free of the corrupting influence of money in our political system and fair enough that any citizen can run for office, not just millionaires and their allies."

This amendment would override the Supreme Court decision on Citizens United that allows corporations to give unlimited amounts to PACs; thus, making it legal to bribe politicians.

This amendment will allow the people to take back the government.

Having a good idea is one thing, and getting money out of politics is a great idea, but how does that get accomplished when spending large sums of money (often on misleading ads) is how politicians get elected? The more entrenched the corruption is, the harder it is to un-do, especially in our law-making institutions.

Yes, it will be difficult. Just vote for those who do not take PAC money.

Overall good plan except they're trying to eliminate money influencing politics by raising money to influence politics. I refuse to give a single penny to bribe a politician.

Elections should be taxpayer funded with all private donations eliminated. Presidential gets 100,000, congress gets 50,000. States could be comparable but from state tax.

The average congressman spends just short of a million dollars on their campaigns. As long as candidates think the only way to win a election is by raising and spending ridiculous sums of money nothing will ever change. I don't think that is true anymore, with all the social media available today I think a person can get elected by just the money donated by the people in their district.

I agree, we need to get out the voters.

Sounds like something I can get behind

You would still get the wealthy and dishonest politicians we have today. We need to make funds for federal office limited to $5,000 per person and $10,000 per corporation, that way we have an almost level playing field.

I like your objective, but other tactics might be used, for example public funding of elections. For example all political advertising limited to public channels, instead of commercial channels.

Moreover, corporations are not people and should not have the right to donate any money to political campaigns. The employees and shareholders can represent the companies interests.

@EdEarl You are right about corporations are not people but in the eyes of the current SCOTUS decision, that is not the case. Until Citizens United is overturned we must still seek to limit the national levels allowed. Additionally, we already have public funding for elections and that did not help the cause. You will note that you can donate $1 to the presidential campaign fund. Money is distributed based on primary outcomes.

@SageDave That only shows that corruption reached the Supreme Court before Citizens United. If there is a paper trail, some of them could be sent to prison.

@SageDave exclusively public funding

@EdEarl So where would the money come from? Added taxes? Deduction on the annual tax bill? Taken away from the military budget (my favorite)? The money is speech is not new to the political world. Even public funding will have its down points.

@SageDave reduce the military budget is my favorite. There is no need for the massive ad budgets currently in vogue. In fact these budgets increase propaganda.

I support this idea completely! It would make our government process so much more equitable!

Welcome, did you sign the petitions, one for your state, and another

@EdEarl yes...
