Documentaries you should see

This is a place where I'd love to hear about the documentaries that moved you emotionally or made you want to look into or study something. Real life is more fascinating than fiction. What should I see?

Hi there, it's me. I watched Deadly Deception , the deadly contemination of our environment caused by General Electric and the manufacture of Nuclear Power. Not a fun movie to watch.Almost as much fun as the report on Chernoble.

One of the musicians I admire greatly: John Paul Jones. There are some endorsements of strings, but still intresting if you play.

This one is a bit old now for a technology piece but was an eye opener for me on the idea of human/technology evolution and the concept of the singularity. Human v2.0 (2006)

"Chasing Coral" is about the bleaching and dying of the coral reefs around the world. Terribly sad, but interesting and important. Also, "Chasing Ice" shows the increasing rate of glaciers receding in most of the world.

I highly recommend A Place Called Chiapas It isn't so much atheist per se. But it is a very interesting documentary (about the Zapatistas in Mexico).

‘The Tale’ on HBO, the story of a woman who was abused by her coach at 13...but never admitted it was rape. Trigger warning for rape/sexual assault.

I’m always learning. Documentaries about history fascinate me, particularly around the late 1800s. Was I alive back then? Hmm...

I really enjoyed "Saving Sirga: Journey into the Heart of a Lion" on Netflix. I originally put off watching it because I thought it would be a lot of corny anthropomorphism, but it was actually very interesting (and heartwarming).

I've just watched The Watchmaker's Apprentice, for the second time. It is about mechanical watches, and two people who make them, with many parts filed by hand to incredible perfection and beauty.
