ETA: Thanks, everyone. ?. I've got some phone calls to make on Monday, it seems.

I hope I can get some advice. I think I pulled a muscle in my back, right above the right butt cheek. The problem is, no kind of stretching or exercise I've tried has helped it, and it's getting worse, with shooting pains and hip instability, going down my leg and making my knee unsteady, too. Is there an exercise or something I can do that my weak Google skills have simply missed?

Sounds like a combination of sciatic pain and weak hamstrings. There's some good exercises for both online.

I've got some ideas but you really should see a professional: a good chiropractor, a physical therapist or an orthopedist.
