Objects do not fall to the ground. When you use the term falling you are assuming that gravity is a force of attraction between two objects. When two objects collide there is a change in uniform motion which is more obvious in the object with lesser mass. What is happening is the lesser mass is decelerating on the Earth’s surface because it is in motion and then stopping because it is meeting a much greater mass. This troubled Galileo because all objects regardless of the amount of mass fall to the ground at the same rate.
Einstein said gravity is warped spacetime and light would bend under its influence. On May 19, 1919, Sir Arther Eddington took a photograph of a background constellation during a solar eclipse and the stars’ images appeared to move away from the Sun as if viewing the image through a huge positive lens (gravitational lensing effect). Einstein said to think of the bending of light as elevators rising from the surface of the Sun; light enters on the far side at a higher level and then exits at a lower level on our side of the rising elevator, causing the light to bend making the images look like they’re at a greater angle away from the Sun.
In a gravitational field, you are in motion without being able to see space you don’t realize this and assume you are being pulled by a mysterious force like magnetism toward the larger mass, this is not the case, you are moving farther faster toward the core of the Earth because the fabric of space stretches like in a gravitational embedding diagram, and time slows in the presence of mass so you are moving farther faster toward the core of the Earth then decelerating on the surface. When you apply pressure on anything you generate heat, by standing on the surface, you are applying pressure on the core which radiates longwave energy (heat) that rises through you making your direction of motion travel toward the slower time rhythm because the kinetic energy slows time.
Gravity is simply deceleration on the planet's surface, a change in uniform motion because the change in momentum lags changes in velocity.
