Well, at over 100Β° today, it wilted me and most of the plants but the Gazanias LOVED it. There was rain last weekend and HOT, HOT weather, which they really thrive in. All of them were in bloom today and although I was melting through it, I went out to get snaps of them. Now, if someone would come pull all the weeds that are growing around them, it would be great.
Beautiful! I am going to add Gazanias to the list of seeds I will start indoors next spring for my 2019 flower beds.
After a record HOT May here in central Illinois, June has been fairly normal. Unfortunately, it looks like a high of 98Β° tomorrow. I guess pulling weeds will have to wait. Speaking of weeds, I put off the job so long that now if you don't look too closely, the weeds look like groundcover. In this photograph, the greenery in front of the coleus is weeds (mostly crabgrass, which seems to be EVERYWHERE). The plant in the hanging basket is milkweed, for monarchs to lay eggs on.
