This link I am posting from you tube is ostensibly about a topic outside of lgbtq+ issues. And it is freakin' long. But bear with me. In talking about comedians and conservatism, the speaker makes a really important point about recent claims that trans people can't take a joke and are overly sensitive, etc.

Between the 12:26 mark and around 16 minutes, he analyzes the recent controversy over Dave Chappelle's comments supporting J.K. Rowling and T.E.R.F.s while simultaneously claiming he is not anti-trans. Chappelle is neither a conservative nor an idiot. In fact, he is brilliant. And I believe he is not motivated by any malice. But on this specific issue he is still ignorant, and ignorance plus a large platform can do tremendous damage to a tiny minority marginalized group on the receiving end of that bully pulpit.

What do you think? Caveat. It is helpful to view Chappelle's netflix special this clip references to have better context.

I have already been told this Chappelle special is almost entirely about racism and cancel culture that to call him out for his comments proves insensitivity regarding issues of racism. How can I put this sensitively? Oh yeah: BULLSHIT!

He's no Jay Leno but "Your best joke is telling us how your jokes are bad" Was pretty hysterical. Dem's have had to be careful about "CIgar fucker" jokes since 1998 but he pulled it out. My EMS theory is less confusing than his CRT but his theory about conservative comedy (not being funny) is perfect. I think he's right. I'm going to think on it while masturbating to some new drawings. LOL. His bit about the time a joke appears in is great but I thought the con blackjack dealer joke was funny. Huckaboner was great. GUTfeld!

I enjoyed it and laughed openly (except at the Newtons). I do like cumming into pears so the pair of balls bit was amusing. I agree about Colbert and Kimmel. Seth soft panders to the religious, "And what not." My father tells me that ghosts do laugh. Especially when I drop my pants. I really can't complain about someone "Telling it like it is" so will leave Chappelle to the masses. BS? He's no Sahl so I'm okay with that.
