PBS/Nature/Butterflies last night. Painted Ladies travel 9000 miles from equatorial Africa, across the Sahara to Europe, out traveling the Monarch by 3000 miles. The southbound migration finds them high up in the atmosphere coasting at about 30 MPH. The most ubiquitous butterfly.
