Is This Milkweed?
My friend has what I think is milkweed she doesn't want. If it is, indeed, milkweed, I'm going to plant it in my yard.
Please let me know your thoughts asap. Including any specialized instructions, if any. Thanks!

That is VERY helpful!!! Thank you! When I went to their new house for the first time, there was, indeed, a swallowtail on the flower. So, I will take it off her hands and plant it. Oy.......the ground in my yard is soooooo hard (first 2-3 inches) and then thick sticky clay. Of course I'll put good soil in, but I'm dreading digging a hole. 
It does not look like any milkweed I am familiar with, but there are many varieties that I am not familiar with. The varieties I am familiar with all have sap that looks like milk. Unless you hear otherwise, I suggest cutting or breaking a stem to check the sap. If it is not white, I doubt that it is milkweed. Hope this helps.
