Even though I check milkweed every day for newly hatched caterpillars, these two pictures illustrate how easy it is for one slip by me. Is probably about four or five days old, and was just lounging on this leaf when I walked up and spotted it.

I'm so happy to say that my milkweed has returned & I have many more plants than last year. I've noticed that it has spread. I'm dedicated two gardens to butterflies & pollinators this year.

Monarchs need our help on so many fronts. One such front is freeways and roadways in Monarch migration paths. I propose closure of these roads until migration South is complete. Who's with me on signing a petition?
