Our society is very polarized at this point and most of our problems are due to that polarization. My question is how willing are we to rationally discussed the causes and effects of that polarization?

- One subculture approaches the world with cooperation. They are compassionate and brave, seeing the world as all are one. The other subculture approaches the world with competition. They are fearful and see the world as either us or them.
The PROBLEM is gun violence is taking an increasing toll on society. Mass murders are rampant.
- Yes, it is NOT possible to eliminate ALL guns from circulation at this time. Nor do we want to eliminate ALL guns! We only want guns to be SENSIBLY controlled. This will be a long process so it is time to start.

@kenriley made a great point in his last paragraph as my initial thought was what is the point of agreement that you can start with. If you can't find that it will go downhill pretty quickly.
