Gun Control Laws DO NOT mean that you CANNOT own a gun.
They simply mean that A) you MUST, as in Australia, SHOW reason and proof that you are, 1) a responsible, intelligent person WHO can own, handle and KNOW what any gun/firearm is REALLY for, that it IS NOT a toy, etc,
B) can store your firearm in prescribed safe, secure and lockable GUN SAFE when NOT using it, WITH ALL ammunition STORED separately in a further LOCKABLE, SAFE storage cabinet, etc,
C) ONLY want your firearm/gun for shooting pests/vermin, etc, ON PRIVATELY owned Grazing/Farming Properties WHERE you have PERMISSION to do so by the OWNER/S or at Licensed Shooting Ranges,
D) You may NOT simply walk around the streets, etc, carrying ANY firearm, either overtly or covertly AND ONLY OVERTLY IF you are a Police Officer or a Recognized and Accredited Security Guard on DUTY,
E) you may NOT have/hold or use ANY Firearm deemed to be Automatic or Semi-Automatic as a private Citizen UNLESS you have a very Specific reason and license to do so.
Ergo, should I wish though I don't neither want or need to, apply for a Gun/Firearm License I CAN do so just so long as I accept and show that I comply with the Conditions set down by Law.
