What are you mostly prepping for?
I think the grid will be the first thing to go down. From there...who knows?
my friend was stationed on the nuclear sub fleet for uk for 10 yrs i ws amazed to find out that once they had launched there was no plan in place as to what to do next he said every sub had the same plan head for the west indies and try and find a non devastated island and have a party till starvation or suicide took them all
I voted for the end of the known world but don't expect it to happen in my life time . The shit that can happen with the internet and our dependence on computers is what worries me . Electric grid , banking system , DOD ,cyber sleeper cells , you could be wiped out with one stroke of the keyboard . Warfare has constantly evolved over history and now in the age of the $ 35 million fighter jet we can be attacked with $500 PC in more ways than I could think of . There's also solar flares and asteroids .
The poll should have a "both" option.
Well I think if your prepping for an end of the world scenario, then you are technically ready for both. ?
I have been fending for myself since quite young and have lived rough a few times, well more than a few maybe. The areas I live even now are prone to fires and floods, we are often cut off for anything up to a few weeks and more commonly get stranded when traveling. 6-8 weeks without access to shops and such would cause no difficulties. We keep a very low profile, decent survival gardens and come the zombie apocalypse, we will be the ones with soft serve ice cream. I expect human society will not survive much longer, probably not in my time, but maybe in a generation, 2 at the outside. I expect a slide not a sudden collapse. All sorts of rationing, refugees, that sort of thing.
Eh as far as actual items go I havent done a whole lot. Survival bag with all the little essentials. Who knows what could happen. Mass scale EMP though would be catastrophic. Hurricanes aren't rare for south Texas either. Fuel shortage, nuclear/biological war. Just so many things
My area is known to flood during heavy rains. That was a place to start, but I agree. There are so many possible scenarios.
