A couple of days ago we had this song Lascia Ch’io Pianga by Handel sung by Malena Ernman the Swedish Soprano in the Classical & Crossover Group and now here is 14 year old boy soprano Askel Rykkvin performing it at the 80th birthday celebrations for King Harald V of Norway in 2017.

I couldn't stop thinking how probably virtually all of those present would hate to see the capitalist system removed and that likely any changes for the sake of the climate would only be OK as long as they did not affect those people.

I think Norway is actually a very egalitarian country, there is less differential between the wealthiest and the poorest. They are also the leading country in the world in promoting new technologies in renewable energy in order to move from fossil fuel dependency. It is a constitutional monarchy where the King is only a figurehead and it’s really a parliamentary democracy, with a socially democratic government. The guests at this concert are probably a mixture politicians and leaders of industry and the arts.
