Today we’re off on a visit to Greece with this love song...Apopse Tha Se Onerireutw - sung by Giorgos Mazonakis.
M you do jump us around! I imagined having this at our music festival and the enormous crowd gathered watching and dancing.
Amazing waves. I had no idea they had such in Greece.
Shakespeare’s TheTempest was set in either the Adriatic or the Ionian Sea I believe ....!
@Marionville Yes. I acted Sebastian in that when I was 13. Poor caliban as it was his island.I've watched many versions of the play. My dad was a governor and eventually chairman of the Victoria Foundation so I was brought up on lots of Shakespeare and saw all those future stars Guinness, Richardson, Gielgud, and the wonderfully funny Maggie Smith. A few years at the Old Vic for very little pay was the route to stardom! My dad's pay was free tickets, best seats so we often sat close to people like the Times theatre critic and probably other future stars. But at 7 or 8 years old I did not understand Shakepeare.
@rogerbenham I’ve always believed the old aphorism...youth is wasted on the young. Joking aside though, that was a privileged youth you had...even if you scarcely realised it at the time.
@Marionville At age 18 I retook my A Levels by attending High Wycombe College of Technology and Art. Lots of people learning trades Every Saturday I worked 7.59 hours at my local Post Office sorting and delivering a postal round. This all meant that I was meeting a whole new class of people. At Durham, I was meeting coal miners and railway workers' children. By age 22 I had had my eyes opened wide. By 25 I had dumped my class and spent every lunch hour in the pub with a trade union foreman learning a wholly different concept of life. Ever since I have become more and more left wing ... too left wing here to stay in the Green Party.
Yes, I know you are correct. I had no idea about 99% of the population. I was brought up in the 0.4%. Now I happily live at roughly the Canadian poverty level. But I have something few people have ... I am fully content. I envy no one and just love being, giving and receiving love.
