The film Elis which I'm currently watching on the idiot box is fairly brutal but so is Brazil.
@FrayedBear I already know her story…it’s always sad when anyone gets caught in a cycle of drink, drugs, neurosis. Lots of people want fame and adoration but find they can’t handle it and all the pressures it brings…the bottle or the drug euphoria initially seems like a solution. It’s such a familiar story but to me it’s sad every time. Actually, I don’t particularly like her voice and style of extreme emotionally draining type of singing, but Brazilians loved her…so who am I to disagree!
