Imagine you are a shepherd in the steppes of Central Asia in the 14th century. It's the middle of a hot day and you are lying in the shade just watching your sheep graze. As you lazily move your gaze to the horizon you see a tiny wave of dust that seems to be growing. Slowly you begin to hear the thud of hooves, many hooves on the ground miles away. The ominous sound is getting louder rapidly and then you hear a stringed instrument. By then you had better be running fast
