It’s not much of a secret that I adore the voice of Morten Harket…in fact it’s common knowledge to all who know me. Here Morten, who is also the lead vocalist with a-ha, sings a song in Norwegian from his 1993 solo album Poetenes Evangelium (Gospel of the Poets). - Elisabeth Synger ved Johannes Doperens Dod…both the recording and a live performance.
Marvelous! Thanks for posting the live performance! Love that voice!
It’s divine!
@Marionville The one thing I notice about Morten’s voice is that he still sounds the same after all these years. His videos from the 80’s and 90’s sound like the Morten of 2021!! How does he keep his voice sounding so good?
@Redheadedgammy I don’t know…he says he doesn’t do anything special. He doesn’t smoke or take drugs…he never has done and he eats very healthily, he cut out gluten as it made him sluggish he says. He now makes his own bread from spelt and some other ancient grain. He also drinks almost no alcohol now because he didn’t like the feeling of not being able to function fully the next morning, especially as he has a young daughter at home. I think he regrets not being around enough when the first three children were young, they were born in 1989, 1990 and 1993…I think he was almost constantly absent, touring with a-ha and he missed a big chunk of their early years. I think that’s also why his wife Camilla divorced him, she felt isolated on her own with the children living first in England and then back in Norway too.
@Marionville I didn’t know about his family life suffering when he was touring. I think that happens to a lot of bands. He sounds like a smart guy who knows how to take care of himself, and it seems to be working because he doesn’t seem to age!!!
@Redheadedgammy No..he’s very well preserved for his age…and yes, he’s very smart, intelligent and really cares about people and the environment .
