Very nice. I really enjoy the string instruments most of all.

Seems familiar.

Of course, hear it all the time. Boccherini's sounds are similar to Vivaldi. Just out of curiosity looked them up and found quite a few pieces by both are played together.

Pleasant enough BUT I'm not educated enough to appreciate string quartets/quintets. Just too serious for me.

I used to feel the same way. Got started with light classical but over the years got to appreciate deeper forms.

@JackPedigo Yes, well my eldest brother, once top scholar of Eton, never strayed into pop music and was doing stuff at a music retreat manor I think at Hitchin when I was rocking to Cliff Richard. The gap remains as he takes in the Ring every year at Glyndebourne whilst Ifootle around on my guitar in the back of beyond.

@rogerbenham I liked some pop and even rock bands. I try to be open. My late partner was from Iran and her middle Eastern music was played often. I was stationed in Turkey and once showed her my ignorance by comparing Iranian music to Turkish. Was not a high point in our relationship but I did get to listen and even enjoy Iranian music. Now, I tear up when I hear it.

@JackPedigo: Yes, I bet you do. Although I had contact with Sufis and even once played along with a band of them, I really can't say I like their music. I'd not know Turkish from it either. Same with Indian. I loved chanting Hare Krsna and after doing that for a couple of hours one gets high as a kite, but I only can take Indian music in small doses. My wife had been to Pune a few times and she had some good quality stuff but a little Deva Pramel went a long way. I can listen to vast amounts of cathedral singing especially a capella16th and 17th century stuff. I never tire of Palestrina but hardly post it here because it does not seem appreciated. Maybe you have to have been a cathedral singer to know what it is like when that is being sung all around you.
For a time I just burst into tears when I sang the songs that I sang with my wife.

@Ray13 No, not academic educated but musically educated. But of course some (maybe you) just appreciate it naturally. I was educated in music at schools and mostly taught myself. I went to many concerts in my London days 69-74 which lead me into loving Baroque and generally not any longer so keen on Classical.
Definition: Baroque starts around1550 and ends with J S Bach. Classical starts with C.P.E. Bach.
I rather think we entered a new form maybe with Delius. Certainly I love Preisner and Gorecki but that is far removed from Beethoven.

Such a familiar tune…but not many know the name of the composer. Beautiful!
