Mark Knopfler is an extraordinarily talented Songwriter and guitarist…both with Dire Straits and as a solo performer. He was born in Glasgow in Scotland and raised in Newcastle-on-Tyne in the northeast of England, but his music is universal and appeals around the world across several musical genres to lovers of good music of all ages. One of my particular favourites is Sailing To Philadelphia, which it just so happens is also the title of this official documentary, so I’ve included that along with a live performance at the Royal Albert, London in 2019.

Glad you enjoyed the video….he’s such a nice man as well as a great talent.
I really enjoyed the portrait.
He plays without a pick. I love that. I have admired him for 30 years. He is almost folk in a way. And New Age.
