The music of Sicily has been influenced by many different cultures and migratory groups to the island over the centuries. Because of it’s strategic situation in the southern Mediterranean, the closeness to North Africa has naturally brought Islamic influences and these can clearly be heard in this medieval Sicilian song. - Montedoro…performed here by Fabio Tricomi, Fabio Accurso & Roberto Bolelli.

Well found! Definitely medieval flavour. Then Arabic music as similar to music I once jammed to with an Arabic band in a night club in Tunisia in '70.

@Marionville The best part in Tunisia was initially speaking to a head waiter in French and asking to only be given local food. I was treated like a king! He arranged a trip to an oasis and the playing with the band in Tunis. English tourists can be incredibly rude.
