reversing to born 1949 (2 years younger than I) and dying 1988 (way too young). I remember the song as one of the earliest Joan Baez did. But I was aware of Leadbelly (Was it Hudie
Leadbetter?) from early Blues album compilations. Big Bill Broonzy referred to him.
