On this day 5th February 1877…Giuseppe Verdi’s Opera Otello premiered at La Scala in Milan. I thought I’d post this aria from the opera sung by one of my favourite operatic tenors Jonas Kaufmann. - Nium mi Tema, …sung after slaying his love Desdemona. Performed at Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, London in 2017 on the 140th anniversary. This production was sponsored and funded by the Arts Council of the EU and highly acclaimed critically.

@Marionville Though I frquently went to the Old Vic, I only remember twice going to Covent Garden (Porgy and Bess). Most opera I saw a Saddlers Wells. Tosca at least twice. My father was not a governor of ROH in CG.
