Today it’s an international post with Classical/Crossover Group - Il Divo - Isabel…live at the Greek Theatre, Los Angeles.
Il Divo very sadly lost one of their members Carlos Marin to Covid in December 2021. This quartet of classically trained singers from four different countries, Spain, France, Switzerland and USA garnered a big following and had a successful career together for 20 years between 2001 and 2021. I believe they intend to continue as a quartet with new member American/Mexican baritone Steven Labrie.
In the video Carlos is positioned second from left in the group lineup.
Music is all too vulnerable to disease....our grief is somewhat assuaged by musicians recorded legacy
Will we ever know what disease caused BEETHOVEN deafness ? Perhaps his greatest work was achieved by his coping skills sawing off the legs of his piano vibrating his notes and tempo onto the floor where he could FEEL "hearing" through his fingers and body seated upon the floor
Yes I liked Carlos most.
Life can be so cruel!
Always loved their sound!
That bloody Covid!!!
Very sad that they lost one of their members to Covid. This was beautiful to listen to. Glad they found another person to continue the group.
Yes…I am glad too.
My hero John Prine was killed by a hospital failing to treat lung infection with less invasive therapies ....my friend Tim died on his porch April 2020 four days after his "covid test" waiting 5 days to be admitted to Columbia S Carolina hospital upon postive test result delivered by mail when he was pŕepared for burial day 5
