Stjepan Hauser is an internationally recognised cellist and one half of the cello double act 2 Cellos. Here he performs a selection of his favourite movie soundtracks, filmed against the spectacular backdrop of his native Croatia. Hauser. - Alone, Together….from Dubrovnik.
This is gorgeous! Sound, scenics....will have to listen tonight.
Lovely cello. I wish we'd been shown something of Croatia. Looks too hot and dry for me. A childhood in England made me pretty waterproof. Houses are very close together. No gardens.
There is lots of greenery in the mountains in Croatia…Dubrovnik is a very ancient city and doesn’t represent the living conditions in the entirety of the country, it would be much the same in most older European cities especially around the Mediterranean.
What beautiful visuals to match his beautiful concert! The fierce drama of the Game of Thrones music seemed quite apt given all that's going on right now.
Yes….it’s a very dramatic and historic city…the whole Adriatic coastline is spectacular. And of course Dubrovnik has seen much warfare and fighting over the centuries…the most recent during the war that followed the fall of communism and the disintegration of Yugoslavia in the 1990s. The dramatic music certainly seems very apt.
@Marionville I would like to see it some day. I've never been near that area.
@Lauren I have visited it both before and after the breakup of Yugoslavia….big changes after communism fell. It’s a big tourist area now, very busy especially in the summer months. It’s very much worth a visit …the whole region around the Adriatic is beautiful.
@Marionville With that recommendation, it goes on my wish list. It takes me awhile, but I'm hoping I have time.
Wonderful! Love these Cello guys!!!
They’re both very talented.
@Marionville It’s such a beautiful sounding instrument! I really love their music.
@Redheadedgammy Yes…it’s probably my favourite musical instrument.
@Marionville The string instruments have always been my favorite.
@Redheadedgammy I really like the saxophone too.
@Marionville Yes, I do too! It’s such a sexy instrument in my opinion!
@Redheadedgammy yes…exactly!
