I just finished watching this and enjoyed it so much I thought I would post it. It's composed by Sir Edward Elgar and I think almost everyone knows it.

I agree ... or Rule Britannia. Was in fact the tune of GSOGQ not originally an American folk song?
48 years after leaving London and coming "For 5 years" to live in Canada my eyes still water at the incredibly British celebration of the Last Night of the Proms. Now if we'd had Rule Britannia as well I might have been in floods! That and their adoration of the Royal family is in its own way so vastly un-British. They are not nearly as much of a flag waving nation as the USA Americans. Is it a chance for the old British to celebrate when their country was mostly one bloodline. The influx of foreigners began before I left. I suspect Brexit was stirred up by anti immigrant fervour.
What I do know is that once here for 2 years I had no intention of ever living in Britain again, despite coming from high priviledge there.

That’s a tradition with “the Promenaders”….the fans of the Proms who queue up to buy tickets at a very much reduced price to stand at the concerts. Originally is was for the poor so they could get to hear great music, but really it’s become a tradition for mostly students and certain arty types around London who have formed their own association…”The Prommers”.
