As a follow up to yesterday’s post …and because today is the 60th anniversary of the first James Bond movie in the longest running and most successful film franchise series in cinematic history. Dr No, starring Sean Connery as Ian Fleming’s spy premiered on 6th October 1962 and was followed by 26 other 007 movies in the ensuing 60 years to date.
So…the follow up I’m referring to is the fact that yesterday I posted my favourite band a-ha performing at a concert in Neuwied in Germany…a concert at which they also included The Living Daylights the theme which they wrote and recorded for the 1987 Bond movie and which is one they still perform live as a finale at most live concerts to this day due to popular demand from the fans. I’m starting off with the original soundtrack which included John Barry’s orchestration as heard in the actual movie before posting the live one from Neuwied in 2009.
My first Bond movie was Goldfinger (Great Song) I later saw Dr. No and From Russia With Love and all the other Sean Connery Bond films.
I’ve seen every movie…my late husband Peter and I were very big Bond fans at one time. Goldfinger was his theme song favourite too. Sean Connery…the original and best 007 without a doubt!
I too thought Timothy Dalton was a superb Bond. Of course Sean Connery was the best!! . Love this a-ha song for the movie!!
