I was looking for a live performance of this song …a duet between Laura Pausini and Josh Groban…two music superstars…however there doesn’t seem to be one. Anyway…this recording is a favourite of mine and I was listening to it last night…E Ti Promettero - (And I Will Promise You).
You posted a Pausini at my unhappiest time during the last months of 2019 which filled my heart and of course at the time my misery. I even posted it on a Facebook ste dedicated to her dying and memory.
I hope you are feeling less unhappy now Roger…the loss we feel becomes more bearable over a period of time, as we find coping mechanisms like listening to music. You once asked me about my love for a-ha and I know at times it may seem to some people that its excessive ….I’m aware that my liking their music became more obsessive when I lost my son Graeme. I used listening to their songs and watching videos of their old concerts as a coping mechanism…as a distraction from thinking about my loss. I always really liked them and their music, and Morten Harket’s voice in particular…but that intensified to a deeper appreciation and love for it as I found it soothed and satisfied me like no other music could. I do really like Laura Pausini and Sissel …and loads of other artists too, and listen to them a lot, but the only music I literally can’t live without hearing is a-ha’s…and Morten’s solo music too.
I’m pleased to have been able to introduce you to the marvellous Laura at a time when you were grieving so deeply for your Jeanie and hope it helped you through the worst of it.
@Marionville Yes it did though I don't think anyone commented on that posting. I have posted thoughts on her birthdays and death anniversary since. At the time I listened to it many times though it was very sad.
Three months after I investigated all that I could find on near death experiences and though it was not the answer that I sought, it sure is a comforting one. Her death anyway had taught me that the only value on this mortal plane that has meaning is LOVE. There is no place for hate. Mankinds' foolishness pursues hate. It results in misery.
I am agnostic in that like Krishnamurti I don't believe in anything. I don't think that I ever did. But I kinda hope that post death I continue leaning perhaps on a different plane. My suspicion is that we are all living in an illusion. Gods are glorifications of humans and ridiculous because they are human inventions, maybe created as you said to suppress women.
He's the one who said it was the hours upon hours of practice that made him a singer....not gawd.
You’ve gotta love him for that!
@Marionville Yes, & great to hear someone say so.
Love these two singing together! Their voices are so beautiful!!
Yes…wonderful voices!
