The Spanish guitar is a beautiful instrument in the right hands…and one of the most famous and influential exponents of it was Francisco Tarrega. He was born Francisco de Asis Tarrega y Eixea in 1892 in Villarrea in Castellon, Spain and grew up playing his father’s flamenco guitar at every opportunity, eventually becoming a virtuoso player and composer. As a child due to an accident he went blind and his father encouraged him to play because other occupations would be barred to him without his eyesight. Memories of Alhambra. - Francisco Tarrega….

@Marionville I really love the guitar, and have always loved those that can play Spanish guitar. This fellow really was excellent! I’ve already looked up other music he’s done.
