I’m tired of the same old dull overtly religious crap during this time so thought I would add some, more joyful music from around the world. Fun piece with a little surprise in the middle. I think Organist1 will like this one.
Lovely…very uplifting.
Actually most of the music played at this time of year is upbeat and joyous…the Xtian carols and hymns included, as they sing of the birth of the saviour . It’s the Easter ones that are doom laden about crosses and death. I’m currently rehearsing seasonal music both secular and religious for our choir’s two concerts on the 16th & 17th December, and they are all great fun to sing. The ladies of the choir are doing a three part harmony version of Santa Baby…the old Eartha Kitt hit! The whole choir is doing a wide variety including The Twelve Days Of Christmas …complete with farmyard noises etc., and Elvis’s Blue Christmas….in contrast with Il Dulci Jubilo and In The Bleak Mid Winter (my own favourite) which is Christina Rossetti’s beautiful poem set to music. We have something for everyone in our programme I think.
Beautiful and cute. Wonder what the lyrics mean in English?
On Bright Days is the English translation.
@Marionville Thanks for the question (I also wondered. [lyricstranslate.com]
