There’s something very calming about harp music…and traditionally Celtic music quite often incorporates it in their melodies. The song The Isle Of Innisfree was written by full time Irish policeman and part time composer Richard Farrelly in the 1940s. It was inspired by the poem of the same name by W.B. Yeats and has been used in a number of films including the 1952 movie The Quiet Man starring John Wayne & Maureen O’Hara…although Dick Farrelly was not given a mention on the screen credits. This version with harp and vocals is by Celtic Woman’s Orla Fallon.

Not a tune that I know though like so many others. Lovely.
