Chaim Topol…who went by the singular stage name of Topol was an Israeli actor and singer who sadly died a few days ago aged 87. He’s probably best known for his portrayal of Teyve in the musical Fiddler On The Roof…both in the stage production on Broadway & The West End, and in the subsequent 1971 movie adaptation. I’ve chosen this clip of him singing - If I Were A Rich Man - from the show, at 1991 Tony Awards - introduced by Julie Andrews…

Of course…it’s been played a lot on air!
Loved the play. We were involved with a local production decades ago, when my husband tried his hand at wanting to act.....didn't get a part so we got involved behind the scenes. Good times.
